Congress Avenue Wall and Streetscape Improvements
Texas School for the Deaf
Austin, Texas
Architectural Design Winner, Austin Business Journal Best Real Estate Award
The final piece of BGKAs master plan for the Texas School for the Deaf, this project
completely transforms a once derelict portion of Congress Avenue, arguably the most
famous street in Texas. The undulating retaining wall, wide sidewalks, and rows of large
trees create greater campus identity, strengthen the schools connection to the avenue,
and provide the community with shade, seating, and access to public transportation.
