In an effort to keep their city vibrant and retain younger members of the

community, the citizens of Palestine donated 46 acres of heavily wooded

property to The University of Texas at Tyler on which to build an entirely new

satellite campus. Currently in the design phase, the anchor building will

facilitate nursing, health, business, and interdisciplinary studies.
