Intermodal Transit Terminal and Parking Facility
City of Round Rock
Round Rock, TX
110 parking spaces (Phase 1)
After working on the Round Rock City Hall Policy Center, BGKA was hired again by the City to design a parking facility in the same district of town. Wide sidewalks, trees, covered seating areas, planters, shade from awnings, and ample lighting all contribute to the walkability of this facility and the surrounding district, and suggest how future projects in the area can contribute similarly. Though the initial construction is comprised of two levels, the structure is actually designed to accommodate three additional floors of parking when needed in the future. In addition, street-side parking bays are designed for eventual conversion to retail space. The facility is also designed to serve as a regional transit terminal, where bus lanes are integrated through the back of the structure, and a covered entrance provides ample seating for waiting citizens.
