BGKA has always placed an emphasis on socially responsible design practices, and sustainable
design is an integral part of that philosophy. A member of the Austin Energy Green Building Program
since 2000, BGKA has four LEED® Accredited Professionals on staff. Before sustainability was
common, BGKA achieved certification on projects with no green building requirements at all. Both the
Palmer Events Center and Bay Hall Classroom Building were determined by the Austin Energy
Green Building Program to have achieved 50% to 75% of their sustainability checklist. BGKA recently
received USGBC LEED® Gold certification for the LCRA's River Operations Center and is
presently working toward LEED® Silver on Texas State University's Round Rock Nursing Building.
