On April 16th, 2010, the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects held its annual
design awards celebration to announce this year's winners. The University of Texas at San
Antonio Campus Master Plan received a Merit Award for Excellence in Design. Juror Michael Imber,
FAIA, stated that he was "excited about the possibilities for what UTSA could possibly be"
based on this master plan. Juror Merrill Elam, AIA, also stated that "one of the strong points
about it is that this much larger master plan builds off of the initial moves of the original campus."
