Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Arts, Digital Media & Communications (ADMC) programs immerse students in hands-on training across a broad spectrum of creative careers. From Art, Dance, Drama, and Music to Game Development, Animation and Motion Graphics, Music, Radio-Television-Film, Photography and Visual Media, and Visual Communication, the program’s diversity called for highly specialized, purpose-built spaces, all housed within Highland’s Building 2000.
Our team transformed spaces within the former Highland Mall into a vibrant hub for creative education, featuring state-of-the-art facilities such as photography labs, game design and motion graphics studios, TV production suites, music practice rooms, and professional grade recording studios. Public spaces—including the art gallery, dance studio, black box theater, and proscenium theater—line the Paseo, a pedestrian corridor that connects students and the community and provides real-world platforms for performance and exhibition. We incorporated collaborative and common spaces to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, preparing students for successful careers in Austin’s thriving creative industries.
